About MIT Press Journals
The MIT Press is one of the largest American university presses in terms of numbers of journals published, numbers of books published, and overall sales. Although MIT began publishing in 1926, The MIT Press imprint was established in 1962, and MIT Press Journals was developed as a division of The MIT Press in 1969.
MIT Press Journals published its first two quarterlies, Journal of Interdisciplinary History and Linguistic Inquiry, in 1970. Today, the Journals division continues to add select journals of long-standing repute or fresh potential to its current list. We publish more than thirty titles in both print and electronic formats, and in many subject areas, including the arts and humanities, social sciences, and certain areas of science and technology.
